I love the antique gold one. I am a pretty flamboyant dress-wearer and love slips and petticoats of all types and let them "peek" out. I haven't seen that colour before, and it is gorgeous, while keep the practical white up where it is not seen.

Alli (One Pearl Button) said...

Wow, tough choice, but if forced, I would have to choose the ivory as my favorite - it has such a soft, pretty look. Thanks for the chance to win!

they are all so beautiful. I guess black would be my favorite.

I absolutely love the antique lace slip. I have recently made a few 1950's dresses that I would absolutely love to wear that slip with.

Zegi said...

I love it!!!! I would pick ivory. It is so cool how it has the extra bit of fluffy tulle at the bottom. I'd feel like a free-wheeling poodle-skirt gal in it!

I love it because its so cute and feminine! :)

I love the silk white slip because it's so feminin and fun but classic all at once. White can go with just about everything, and a slip immediately adds to the twirly-ness of any skirt! And since more twirly-ness means more fun and random giddiness, I think the white slip is perfect!
Slips make me happy, can I say any more?

Anonymous said...

I really like the black one, actually. It's a nice mix of feminine and an unexpected hint of punk. Actually, I really like a bunch of your slips and would consider buying some, but they don't come in my size :(

Taryn said...

They are all gorgeous but I would have to say the Ivory would be my top choice because it would add the slightest bit of color and contrast to anything! It's beautiful!

Ooh, I love it! Pick me!

I'm a Silk White fan - most of my whites are bright and this version would go best in my wardrobe. Thanks for doing this giveaway!

The white silk one for sure. Beautiful!

A slip just feels so feminine....classic and elegant. Silk White would be my favorite.

What lovely slips! The antique gold is stunning, but I am not bold enough to wear it often, so I would probably choose the classic white one. Or maybe I should work on my boldness?

Natasha said...

Everything is so beautiful!

I love the silk white have a ball slip. I love how pretty and feminine it is. I alos love the tulle that is at the bottom to give full circle skirts and dresses extra pouf! without having scratchy tulle touching me. I also think the antigue gold is very fun.

An ivory slip would look ever so sweet peeking out from under the vintage skirts and dresses I have!

I'm a fan of the "Have a Ball-Ivory" slip...what a great idea for a company, store-bought slips are just not where it's at these days! I have some of my Grandma's old slips, my faves...love the tulle on this one, I have just the dress to set off with this!

I love it in ivory -- so simple and elegant.

I love the ivory -- i have several skirts that flare near the bottom (they have godets) and I bet a poufy slip underneath would be really fun!

I Love the Gold one, so different. I know I was born in the wrong era fashion wise, and it's so nice to see more retro fashions, like your slips, coming alive again because of the internet! Thanks!

The gold one is just stunning!

I like the antique gold. It's more interesting than the white, also would be less glaring against my mostly dark dresses.

I love the ivory! Slips aren't appreciated enough any more, and I would love to add one like this to my wardrobe.

Antique gold! That's just the most gorgeous color.

Dzesika said...

These are just gorgeous ... not sure about picking a favourite but I'd have to go with the gold one - a nice unexpected touch of colour peeking out from under your hem! :)

These are really fun. Thanks for making me smile. Please pick me!

I love the antique gold one...it's so vintage looking....well...to tell you the truth...I LOVE ALL OF THEM!

Heidi said...

White silk, for sure. I bought a dress from a bridal shop that was a knee length black dress with red tulle peeking out the bottom. I LOVED it, but when my dress arrived, the red tulle was too short and barely showed and I couldn't exchange it! Having a slip would make this pretty dress stand out again!

I love the idea of having a bit of tulle peeking out from beneath the hem of my dress! I love the look of the Antique Gold one, but I think I would wear the Silk White more often. Lovely, lovely slips, ladies!

The antique gold one is fantastic! It would be gorgeous peeking out from under all of my summer dresses.

Tami said...

The ivory color is beautiful. I love your slips! Thanks Tami

Gertie said...

I love the ivory slip because it would look awesome peeking out under my favorite hot pink wool skirt that I made. I love it so much I would even buy it myself if I weren't a victim of the economic downturn at my company. Stimulus with slips!

Sharon said...

I grew up in the days when you wore dresses to school everyday with great, pretty slips under them. The Ivory brings back so many happy memories-beautiful!!

Unknown said...

Having your slip show can sometimes be an embarrassing incident. This is certainly not the case with the "have a ball" slip. I'm particularly taken with the Antique Gold slip, the color is unusual and versatile. I believe could be worn in dressed up and dressed down ways.

These slips are just lovely. I like the antique gold slip because it is an unusual (at least to me) slip color.

LadyT said...

I think I would like the color of the Ivory one best. Great idea to make slips to intentionally be seen. I also really like the idea that this can help with modestly!

Unknown said...

I would have to choose the ivory. I like them all but the photos for that one are just so inspiring! If I had one, I would create my own impromptu celebration to wear it to.

Anonymous said...

I love the Ivory... the tulle on the bottom is such a special touch!

Bree said...

I love the vintage gold! I think it would add a sense of whimsy to a million different outfits, and give that little bit of poof that makes you feel like a princess.

I would love to win the silk white...so fresh and spring looking!

Skulleigh said...

Ooo, I'd love the white one, it seems so clean, and potentially swishy! :)

I would make soooo many pretty dresses and skirts to wear over it :)

rebecca said...

I like the white...a perfect dress calls for a perfect slip, and a full skirted vintage just isn't the same without a pretty, decorative slip!

Sold A Moke said...

I am a crisp clean white slip kinda gal. Love the feminine feeling that wearing beautiful underpinnings gives me when I dress up. I'm a sucker for lace and frills!

Anna said...

The Ivory slip would go perfectly with my new spring dresses!

Sewing Siren said...

What a beautiful slip.
I wear slips and petticoats everyday. They make your clothes hang so much better.
I would pick the Silk White, because Mr. Siren has a "thing" for that opening segment of Petticoat Junction ;).

Oxford Silhouettes said...

I love the Ivory slip. It looks like something you found in the attic, next to your grandmother's love letters, that you pull on just before running out to that summer garden party on the lawn to meet your own bespectacled Peter Wimsey -- who reminds you about the importance of not writing run-on sentences! (But whom you give a quick smooch to behind the hydrangeas, anyway.)

annasoc said...

Having a pretty slip, like the Silk White slip under a dress is like having a secret. And it will make A-line and full skirts and dresses stand out, but not too much. I don't always want to look like Lucy Ricardo.

Wow, I would choose the antique gold trim and let it peek out like crazy. I could even add some other vintage trims or laces that I have and use it as a skirt. I've been inspired :)

I'm all over the Antique Gold. I'm adding bits of brown to replace the black in my standard red/black color scheme. This slip is a nice, saucy way to incorporate some warm tones to my wardrobe.

Grace said...

I think Ivory would be my choice. So pretty and classic!

I also love your damsel in distress slip... I might have to get that one anyway.

Christina Hughes said...

I love the antique gold, because while I don't currently have much gold in my wardrobe, this slip makes me want to sew a dress to go with it. It would be a 50s dress with gold in the pattern and I would let the slip peek out the bottom.

Anonymous said...

Have you ever noticed that you keep gravitating towards the same colors once you've got them in your head? My current fixation is white, gold, and magenta: every single item of clothing I've bought this year (admittedly, not much) has been one of those three colors. I can just picture the antique gold slip peeking out from under the hem of a winter-white dress, worn with magenta tights: it's a staple I didn't even realize was missing from my wardrobe.

GPROA said...

Antique gold! I'm uncomfortable with how golds look against my skin tones, but over tights and under a skirt that'd be no problem. Every queen needs a little gold in her wardrobe!

Amy said...

Ooh, I do love the gold one but if I had to pick just one it would be the ivory because it would be the most versatile in my own wardrobe.

Shannon said...

ooh, I think the Antique Gold is my favorite. So sassy and unexpected!

Cara said...

This is a tough call, but I think I'd choose Ivory, which, to me, looks the most romantic and old-worldish. I only wear dresses and skirts, and I can never have too many awesome slips peeking out from beneath their hems.

J-dub said...

I LOVE the antique gold. It's a color that would fit in with pretty much all of my dresses/skirts [I'm envisioning it with one dress in particular, and in my head it's a gorgeous combination!], adding a little extra "something" without being too much look. After looking for ages, I've just recently started to find pretty and practical slips and am wearing them whenever I can--they do make a huge difference in how a dress or skirt looks on me [and I feel very old-school Elizabeth Taylor when I'm at home lounging in the slips...].

Amber Sausen said...

Ooh! Antique gold! I would never have even thought to have a slip that wasn't part of the traditional color scheme (white, ivory, black). Gold would be an amazing little detail to have part of any outfit.

Chiara said...

The ivory one is so classic. I think the colour is perfect for so many skirts to be caught peeking out by accident. And the tulle would add the cutest amount of flare to an a-line skirt (my favourite kind).

Unknown said...

I would take the gold "have a ball" (as everyone has said, very unique) and wear it over the black "have a ball". then put both under a vintage black A-line-ish dress that is tight in the bodice and hips and flowy around the knees. with seamed black stockings, suede peeptoe heels. and the gold and black slips peeking out the bottom. i guess i'd be having two balls, with two slips, and wow, it'd be grand.

Sareberry said...

Ooh, that's a tough one. I am tempted to say the ivory because I think it's more in line with my normal look, but dang that Gold is gorgeous! Definitely a nice flash of color. The gold.

wundermary said...

Hi!
I saw your give-away over on Dress-A-Day. You have such nice stuff! I especially like the antique gold Have A Ball slip. It would have went fabulously with my wedding dress, but would go equally well with other things I own, too!

I hope this generates some good traffic for you and thanks!

Kristen said...

antique gold is my fav - it's so fun to have a color peeking out! and all of my slips now are too short and don't properly get rid of cling-to-tights problems!

Mel said...

I love the silk white Have a Ball slip. I dont think there is nearly enough fluffiness in today's clothing. So unfortunate.

I could play dress up forever.

Kelly said...

I like the silk white. How east to throw under this "opps, a little too short" skirt I bought. Cool!

lsaspacey said...

I am partial to the Antique Gold. I like things a little bit different and can definitely see this peaking out underneath one of my brown patterned skirts in the early spring and fall. It would be especially lovely underneath a chocolate brown corduroy skirt.

Mimi said...

Oh my goodness, these slips are fantastic! I'd love to win one!

geogrrl said...

My favourite is the antique gold. When the edge of the slip peeks out (and you know it will) it looks rich, confident, and flirty at the same time. The black is too obvious and the white and cream too everyday.

Nikki Petersen said...

I'm in love with the silk white!! A must have for my closet.

I adore the ivory slip, the craftsmanship of these slips is simply beautiful.

I came here from a dress a day. What a gorgeous petticoat! I like the Gold best - a lovely unexpected darkness and so glamourous. My fingers are crossed!

Anonymous said...

I love the ivory slip (well, I love all the colors of slip). But the ivory one would look particularly chic-chic under my two vintage 1940's dresses, which need slips and could use a tiny bit of 21st c. oomph.

Oooh-la-la!

sherri s. said...

Wow, so pretty! I love slips and have a few vintage ones that probably should be retired. I love all of these (including the black), but I think I'd go with the ivory.

The Overgrown Hobbit said...

The antique gold one is perfect for fancy dress wear. It reminds me of the opening scene in Goudge's A LITTLE WHITE HORSE where the heroine is rejoicing in the knowledge of lace trim on her underthings.

One would sit up a bit straighter and step a bit more lightly knowing one had something that snazzy underneath!

Unknown said...

I'm so glad to have found you via Dress A Day. I am constantly hunting slips at vintage shops, but your slips are miles above vintage ones in terms of sass and style. The Antique Gold would look fabulous peeking out of a wool suiting dress that is currently on my to-sew list. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Gotta love the ivory. Classic style in a classic color.

amanda said...

I love the Antique Gold one. I don't wear as much gold as I should, but this may help remedy the situation! It would go with virtually all the skirts and dresses I already own!

Kelley said...

The Ivory is gorgeous. I love all of your slips -- how wonderful!

Vegan said...

I like the Antique Gold. It would be perfect for peeking out of the bottom of just about any skirt. And thank you for answering my question about the fiber content! Since I'm vegan, I don't wear silk, so the nylon tricot fabtic is perfect!

Leah said...

The ivory one is gorgeous - I'd wear it every single day. ;)

Marnie said...

Your slips are just stunning! I love them because they are just enough interest to draw eyes away from my cankles. :)

indigotangerine said...

My favorite is the antique gold because it would give a little punch to a serious tweed skirt or wool dress. And because the color is just gorgeous

christye said...

I love the ivory... its so delicate and feminine, and really lets you bring something fun into your wardrobe.

Paulette said...

Well since I can only choose one....I vote for the antique gold...so pretty!! Might need a new dress if I win!!

Maria Morevna said...

The ivory one looks great! I love to wear full skirts and a slip always makes it easier and better looking. Plus, this one is pretty enough to look good when it shows, but not too flashy to hide it should you want to (though I can't imagine you would).

Serena said...

I love the Ivory. I love anything ivory--it just seems like an old-fashioned color. A bit softer than plain white, you know?

Krisalis said...

The Have a Ball Black Tea is for me! I love that the slip is designed to peek out of a skirt. Thanks

lupinbunny said...

I think antique gold is a really unusual colour, but my favourite goes to Ivory, just because it would match best with the 1940s dress that's been needing a slip in *this exact style* since I bought it in October last year.

gwensews said...

They are all fabulous. I particularly like the ivory. The slips are in keeping with the old black/white movies of which I am so fond. I can see that slip under the full-skirted dress worn by Grace Kelley in "Rear Window".

Renaissance Mom said...

I love the white because you could wear it with everything, but the antique gold would look wonderful with this silk that I just bought for a skirt.

The antique gold is very glamorous! I see it adding a certain dash-and-smile to otherwise ordinary ensemble.

Crystal said...

I love the Antique Gold! The tulle is such a pretty addition and I can just picture it peeking from a full skirt.

Mrs. B said...

Wow, I could really use the antique gold one. I have a denim skirt that's a *little* too short, and I think this is just the thing to lengthen it. I like the color too; it will go with either brown or black-colored items.

Kristina said...

The ivory is too too pretty. I'm sure these would be way better than the slips I stole from my mother's closet! :)

Kate said...

I love the antique gold! It would look great sticking out from a shorter skirt or tucked beneath a longer dress, ready to peek out when you move. I love it!

Unknown said...

The Damsels in Distress are my favorites! I'm not much of a dress wearer (blasphemy! i know!) but I'd make an effort just to wear these!

Somer said...

I think the abtique gold would look great peeking out with red heels. But I just bought some great black and white patent heels so I think I might have to say silk white.

Cel Petro said...

Ivory. The slip is classic, and it has some aura of 40's-50's "sweetness".

I love the silk white one, because it's so gorgeously classic and elegant. Nothing like a beautiful slip to make you feel exponentially more graceful.

Margaret left the house in her jeans and hoodie one Thursday morning. She tried to tell herself it was good to blend in, be one of the crowd, not be stared at. She walked down the street.

Nobody looked at her.

She walked past her best friend's house. "Hey," said her friend. "What are YOU doing here? Oh, it's you," she said distastefully, finally recognizing Margaret.

Margaret didn't like this.

She ran back home and changed into a spectacular homemade dress inspired by Mrs. Dress a Day and her Have a Ball Antique Gold slip, with some heels for luck.

She ran back to her friend's house. The entire way, men were dropping to their knees and proposing.

She burst into her friend's house, gasping from the run, her hair disheveled.

Her friend smiled. "Oh, it's you!" she exclaimed. "I just made you a chocolate cake! Do you want to play a game?"

Instead of answering her, Margaret patted her slip lovingly. "I would have no life without you, my dear."

Where did the vintage hem website go? I looked at the slips yesterday, but now the site seems to have disappeared!

I think I liked the ivory one the best for being both pretty and practical, but not too wedding-ish. The gold is gorgeous, but it is a bit fancy. I would not get as much use out of it.

I'm an avid crocheter and my collection of slips-to-wear-under-specific-crocheted-skirt/dress is growing. Usually it's the skirt/dress first and the slip after, but I think with this, it would be the slip as inspiration for the skirt. Too bad I can't view the colors, but it sounds like Antique Gold would suggest some interesting possibilities.

How pretty! Many years ago, after my grandmother died, we found a trunk of fluffy petticoats that had belong to my aunt in the '50s. What a treasure that was! From pink and white ones to a polka-dotted red one. My aunt told us that she used to layer them to levels of ridiculousness because "fuller was better" back then. :-) Anyway, thanks for the contest--I would choose Silk White.

I love it in all the colors! Were I to win, my particular preference would be ivory, as it would work with my dress shoes! These slips look very practical; not just a one time wear, but something that would look good with any skirt in any season. I wear skirts and dresses all the time (home, work, party, and on a bicycle)! I believe having such a slip would not only make my ensembles more attractive but would also help me be more 'worry free' about my slip showing ; )Thanks for conducting the give-away!

I have to say that I've never worn a slip but I absolutely love the Antique gold one! Go the slip! hehe :)

There is nothing that says feminine more than a beautiful slip. Usually this is a secret kept under wraps, but letting it peek out says I love being a woman! The tulle bottom reminds me of weddings, and what girl doesn't want to play bride everyday? So the Silk White is the pick for me!
