Back to School

Every so often, Vintage Hem gets emails that catch my attention! One in particular was from Tori at college in Hawaii! Her school has a dress code and they do not budge on hem lengths. I know that situation all too well from personal experience! I went to that same school here in Utah and I was presented with a yellow honor code violation before an exam at the testing center. Lets just say, getting humiliated in public is not the way to prep for a test. I sobbed my little heart out that my dress did not appear long enough to a snarky student employee. She was all too excited to have a little authority. Ill admit my long legs could have used a Vintage Hem but by no means was I walking around campus in a mini dress fit for Vegas! I am glad to see that my little hems can empower other studious girls to cover those offensive knees at their religious schools! I am even happier to see my Eyefull of Lace is getting a delicious education in gorgeous Hawaii embellishing Tori's hemline! Hope all you girls have a great semester!

Just wanted to drop a line to thank you for your AMAZING customer service in finding me an Effie's dessert and Eyelet tower slips. I have worn the Effie's dessert several times now and I LOVE IT!! Thanks again, Jen! You went above and beyond. What an awesome idea you came up with these slips. GENIUS!

Vintage Hem Tween

Our slips are great for your darling daughters in that "tween" age! They seem to be getting taller and their hemlines aren't catching up. You can extend the life of their wardrobe and maximize your budget by adding one of our Vintage Hems.

My niece Sieauna is very talented and beautiful. She wore "Dot the Great" under this super cute black dress for a special occasion. She is a fantastic cello player among many other talents she has just like her fabulous parents. Petite small is a great size for young girls and we have quite a few of this style for sale at only $10!

Milwaukee gets her Wish!

We received the following note from a customer in Wisconsin requesting some more solid colors. Vintage Hem has a little secret to share....look for Neenie's Cup of Tea in a new color:

I love your product! I am 5'10" and the majority of today's short dresses are unwearable for me - but now I have a (stylish) solution! Please consider making more styles in all solid colors - they are great for extending shorter skirts.

Pass the Length Test!

I had the privilege of attending Brigham Young University and am very proud of my degree I earned there.

"BYU exists to provide a university education in an atmosphere consistent with the principles of the Church of Jesus Christ. This environment is preserved through adherence to a code of conduct called the Honor Code that reflects those ideals."
byu.edu

A moment I was not proud was when I received an honor code violation for wearing too short of a dress on campus at the testing center. It really psyched me out being humiliated in public before an exam. I remember sobbing extensively, so I had to giggle at the following note I recently received on an order:

Please get this to me asap!! BYU Hawaii has some strict rules and you seriously have the only solution to what I thought were my modest dresses (besides buying a whole new wardrobe).

Glad to aid fellow long-legged ladies in need of protection from power-tripping honor code police!

Vintage Hem was delighted to be featured in a fashion show in Orange County. The audience was about 500 young women and their mothers celebrating beauty and modesty in fashion. The organizer Jenny was fantastic in securing us these few shots sporting eyefull of lace, eiffel tower, damsel in distress, and lastly our tulle slip, have a ball. Heartfelt Help

One of our favorite models Kelsey lost a dear little nephew and has since been diligent in her efforts to support Primary Children's Hospital. A continuation of that heartfelt support is possible through a fundraiser for congenital heart defect research. You can attend the event or even contact them directly to donate items for the auction. This February remembering little ones struggling with heart defects is a beautiful way to celebrate Valentine's Day. A $75 gift certificate to www.vintagehem.com will be available for purchase at the auction.

Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.
